Here’s the Real Challenge with Changing Your Hair Frequently

I know I’m not the only one that has an entire Pinterest board dedicated to the many styles that I plan to try.

You have to keep the people guessing!

However, I sometimes look at the photos on my board and ask myself, “how am I going to make these styles work without breaking the bank?”

When we see our favorite celebs and influencers wearing new hairstyles daily, we tend to think that we can’t do the same while remaining budget-friendly.

I’m here to tell you that it’s possible, sis. To all of my budget-friendly hair lovers, it’s time to chat!

Here’s how you can ditch the dull hair looks and change your hair without spending a lot of money.

Your friends at Private Label do offer a collection of cheap human hair bundles but maybe you don't want to take a chance.

Go Curly, Go Straight

One of the easiest ways to change your hair is to switch up your hair texture.

Are you usually a fan of keeping it straight?

Try a wash ‘n go or create curls with a hot hair tool. If you’re a curly chick, go for a straight look (only if you can accomplish this without the risk of heat damage).

There’s nothing wrong with a little texture change here there – show off your versatility!

Snatch People's Wigs With a Wig!

Fun fact: When I was younger, I would play with my grandmother’s wigs while laughing at the fact that she would proudly wear one every day.

Let me say that times have changed, sorry grandma! Today we have glueless wigs, lace fronts, closure wigs, and a whole lot more.

Now, I am a huge fan of a good wig and will rock one like it’s growing out of my scalp. The thing that I love the most about wigs is that there is no commitment to a hairstyle.

I can decide to have long, curly hair one day and then a short bob the next day. Wigs are one of the easiest, fastest ways to change your hair and switch up your style.

A high-quality HD lace wig can be expensive if you’re looking to invest in a long-term style.

However, if you want a unit that you can pop on here and there, you can either search online or head to your local beauty supply store to purchase one that is inexpensive.

There are a lot of synthetic units that you can find for less than $40 that look just as natural as a high-quality unit.

Another great tip is to make a wig yourself by using some older bundles that you may have.

Take some of your Private Label Extensions hair that you have laying around and create a u-part wig or full cap wig.

Making a wig out of human hair bundles gives you the flexibility to change your hair whenever you want while also allowing you to rock human hair that you didn’t have to buy.

If you are a beginner when it comes to wigs, no worries!

Roll It Up

Foam rollers, perm rods, heated rollers, Flexi rods – you name it, it’s out there!

Roller or rod sets are cute and easy to maintain, but the thing that I love the most is that you can do so much with the curls that you form with these tools.

Whether you want a “pineapple” ponytail (in the words of Twitter users, a “pineapple”) or a half up half down ‘do, your curls will make your style pop.

Much like hair accessories, you can find inexpensive packs of rollers and rods at your local beauty supply store. A few packs will go a long way!

Accessorize Your Hair

Let’s go back to the old days again.

Do you remember when our moms would add all types of bows, beads, and ribbons to our hair? Get back to that trend!

A quick and simple way to add some flair and change your hair is to play around with different kinds of hair accessories.

There’s no limit to the hairstyles that you can create when playing around with different accessories. You can even use something as simple as rubber bands to give yourself a perfect look for any occasion, like a pom-pom ponytail.

Another trendy accessory to include in your style is a scarf or head wrap.

Wraps are not only fashionable, but they also help to protect your hair (or conceal it during a “bad hair day”). Looking to achieve festival vibes?

Slide on a flower crown or headband for a boho-chic look.

Here’s the best part: you can find all of the accessories that I mentioned at a beauty supply store or even a dollar store for a super low price.

Faux It ‘til You Make It

Here’s a neat trick that will change how you view natural hair!

I remember watching a YouTube video where a beauty vlogger shared her best-kept secret about creating a natural look.

She proceeded to pull out a curly drawstring ponytail, and I couldn’t help but wonder what she planned to do with it. To my surprise, she used the faux ponytail to make a super cute natural puff.

Yes, you can use a cheap drawstring ponytail to create a full, curly puff that will look like the real deal. I know you’re probably just as shocked as I was.

All you need to do is pop it on, fluff it out, and boom – you’ve created a new look in minutes!

D.I.Y. Time: Learn to Braid

Okay, bear with me. I know this tip may take a little more time and effort, but I promise it’ll be worth it when you realize how much money you’re going to save!

Learning how to braid your hair will take time, practice, and patience.

However, D.I.Y. braids will give you the flexibility to change your braid styles on YOUR time and with barely any of your dime.

Say “goodbye” to the hassle of making hair appointments and the stress of paying over $100 for the style, not including the price of the hair.

If you decide to braid your hair, you’re only responsible for purchasing the hair and products, whether you're doing cornrows or box braids. We suggest using bulk hair when braiding.

Now, do you see how much money you can keep stashed away just by teaching yourself this technique? You can do this!
