Making the Mask Is Easy
One mask is relatively easy to make, and there are tons of recipes to try out that are simple and don't require many ingredients.
Some recipes may call for a blender or food processor, though most you can mix by hand.
The ingredients needed are usually simple and shouldn't be a bother to set aside for the recipe.
Now that you have that information, I'm going to jump right into the best homemade hair masks to use on your hair.
Coconut Oil Hair Mask
This mixture is such a simple hair mask to make because the only ingredient you need is coconut oil.
Coconut oil does wonders for your hair. The vitamins and essential fatty acids naturally found in coconut oil nourish the scalp and help to remove sebum buildup from hair follicles.
Coconut oil helps your hair grow longer and thicker. All you need for this process is about a quarter of a cup of warmed coconut oil.
The oil needs to be in its liquid form for it to work best. You then want to apply it to your hair. You can choose to do this if your hair is wet or dry.
The choice is up to you. Next, leave the oil in for at least an hour. Keep in mind that coconut oil stains quickly, so you may want to wear old clothes during this process.
Also, I recommend that you wear a shower cap while the oil sits to make sure that it stays in place. Once the hour is up, you want to wash the oil out of your hair, and you are good to go!
Avocado & Egg Yolk Hair Mask
Eggs have a lot of proteins, minerals, and B-complex vitamins that are essential hair nutrients.
This nutrient helps to prevent hair loss by strengthening the roots of your hair.
Biotin and other B-complex vitamin properties found within eggs help with this especially.
The nutrients also help promote new hair growth, adding volume and thickening your hair.
The proteins help strengthen your hair, while the fats help condition it, which improves hair texture. Avocado is a natural hair moisturizer. Avocados have a high amount of vitamin B and vitamin E.
Vitamin B is the key to hair growth. Vitamin E helps repair and restore any damage that your hair may have.
Here are the ingredients:
- œ an avocado
- Two egg yolks
- Mix the ingredients well
Then, you want to apply it to wet or dry hair and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing and washing hair.
You may leave it in longer if you decide. That is up to you.
This mask is very simple to create, and I guarantee it will leave your hair feeling moisturized.
Yogurt, Honey, and Olive Oil Hair Mask
It may sound weird to put honey in your hair, but it does wonders for your locks.
The humectant properties of honey help to regulate and retain moisture in your hair, and honey is said to strengthen hair follicles, which helps to promote healthy growth.
Natural yogurt is full of protein that can add nourishment to your hair.
Yogurt has many vitamins, calcium, antioxidants, and protein. It has moisturizing properties that help maintain greasy or oily hair by washing excess oil from the scalp and hair.
And olive oil helps restore moisture and brings strength and shine to your hair.
Although it may seem weird to add honey to your hair because it is sticky, that is what these other ingredients are here to help fix.
They help to make the honey less sticky once the products are mixed.
Here is what you need:
- One tsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp honey
- Πcup yogurt
Mix the ingredients well.
Apply to your damp hair and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse and wash your hair, and let it dry as you normally would.
Banana Hair Mask
Bananas are rich in vitamins, potassium, natural oils, and antioxidants.
Potassium helps to heal dry and damaged hair. Vitamin A strengthens hair follicles and nourishes dry hair. Vitamin E promotes healthy hair and scalp.
Vitamin C regulates hair oil. As you can see, bananas are very beneficial for your hair in many ways.
Ingredients:
- One teaspoon of coconut oil
- One tablespoon honey
- One teaspoon of olive oil
- 1 to 2 overripe bananas (overripe bananas make blending the bananas much easier).
You first want to thoroughly blend the bananas smoothly until there are no chunks or bits of banana in it. You then want to add the honey, coconut, and olive oil to this mixture and blend it again.
Then, put this mixture into your hair and let it settle into your scalp for at least five minutes.
Personally, I recommend at least 15-20 minutes to make sure your hair is receiving all the moisture and nutrients that it can get.
Once you have done this, you are all set to wash out your hair.
Strawberry Hair Mask
I was shocked to stumble across a hair mask that included strawberries.
Surprisingly enough, strawberries can be very beneficial to your hair. Strawberries contain a significant amount of vitamins.
This fact is beneficial because it helps to control scalp oil. Strawberries rinse away excess oil buildup from the hair and scalp.
They also regulate the natural pH of the scalp. And to top it all off, they leave your hair looking glossy and shiny!
Here is what you will need:
- One handful of fresh strawberries (about seven is enough for medium-length hair)
- One tablespoon honey
- One tablespoon of coconut oil
You want to put all of these ingredients in a blender and blend until there are no strawberry chunks left.
You then want to apply this mixture all throughout your hair. Use a shower cap and let the mixture sit for at least 15-20 minutes.
After this time, you can then rinse out your hair, and you are good to go!
To keep you scalp heathy you can go with Glueless Wigs or V-Part Wigs to minimize the use of glue.
